For me as a photographer and now also creating video, working predominantly in Leeds and Bradford, it’s ALL about the quality of work. To create something visually dramatic, perhaps emotive alongside those key essentials to make sure the photograph or video is doing and saying the right thing for the brief. Whether it’s a corporate headshot, brand photoshoot, sports kit needing to be photographed, my attention to the important details never wavers.
My standards for quality production are as high as can be and you will only ever get photography or video that I am proud of to give to you.

Run for all - Derby Half Marathon
Another great running event from Run for all - the Derby half marathon.
Sport brand photography
More brand sports photography on this one with Georgina. I always try to do something different wherever possible so decided on this one to shoot in a skate park. Once the rain and clouds passed by we had beautiful reflective areas to work in creating the most lovely light. Every shoot photographing sports brand work is always a fun creative day.
Skateboarding photography
As the part of a larger set of personal projects I’ve set myself for 2020 the first one on the list was to meet up with some local skateboarders. The first awesome guy I met was Denham, a freestyler with skills that astound me. On this first session I just asked him to show me what he could do and see how much I could capture. After the first session I’m very excited to see where this one is going to take me. I’ll be experimenting with digital and film to capture what we get up to.
Hockey photography
While working for the European Hockey Federation I had the privilege of meeting Janne Müller-Wieland, German field hockey captain and seeing her in action playing a semi final against the green army. It’s always impressive and amazing to see the level of fitness and skill from elite athletes, putting in perspective the high level they compete at. A really nice lady to meet and hope to photograph her again soon.
Running brand photography
It’s lovely to make new friends in the sports world and from time to time i set myself projects and invite some of those awesome people to take part. This time was in Yorkshire with a bunch of very talented runners to take some sports lifestyle type running photographs. The direction of the shoot was my own.

Velotec cycling kit performance photography
It’s such a pleasure to be asked to work with a client on multiple occasions. Helps to convince me what I’m doing works! Velotec asked me again to shoot at the Boardman Performance Centre to document the process of testing out their new line of speedwear. Lovely client and nice place to work on a cold December day.
Hope and homes family marathon photography
On the hottest day of the year I was asked to photograph the Hope for Homes Family marathon event in London. A real scorcher of a day and such a delight to capture the events and emotions that took place. Photographing runners of all ages.

Ilkley cycle race photography
Another session in the HSBC UK National Circuit Series, this time in Ilkley. Great when these events are hosted in my back garden as it were and the light was heavenly. Lots of gaps between buildings to create shafts of light for the riders to pass through.
Sport brand photographer
Lovely to receive work from local businesses, especially when its creating sports brand photography. I spent one weekend scouting out locations for the shoot, picturesque Yorkshire moorland as a backdrop then the following week photographing the cycling kit. Both cyclists I sourced I had met before, photographed at cycling races somewhere along the way. It’s a small world and nice to pick up new friends along the way to work with and work for!
Skateboarding photographer
A quick hour or so with the guys. Took the initiative as the sun was shining so why not? I’ve tried to develop the project further this time working more on the actual skating rather than telling the story of the guys. I brought my fisheye lens and just had some plain o’l fun!
Blenheim Palace Triathlon photography
Blenheim Palace Triathlon photography. Swim, bike, run in the sun. Gorgeous sunny couple of days documenting the Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon.
World triathlon Leeds 2018 photography
Two briefs for this triathlon event, first day to photograph the amateur athletes, second day to shoot the atmosphere surrounding the event with the elites. Huge sporting events are great to be invited along to shoot and with this world triathlon on my doorstep, always a pleasure!
Skateboarding photographer UK
First session with Elliot, this time the weather flushed us to the confines of the carparks. These guys have a range of locations to hand dependant on weather mainly then preference. In a car park time is limited to how long it takes the security guys to move them on.
Cycling portraits
A quick session with a pretty awesome cyclocross rider I met while shooting an event. I wanted to do something along the lines of a brand shoot, playing around with back light and the new light toy of a ring tube. I even threw in a little Rembrandt lighting too just for fun.
Portrait of a climber
I'm constantly on the look for people to photograph, whatever the reason, just something that catches my imagination and inspiration to photograph them in a certain way. I noticed Pippa online and the remarkable things as an athlete she can do, mainly as a climber but to be honest she’s such an athlete she can take on whatever comes in front of her and win. From looking at her physique i knew it would be great to create some moody portraits not just showing her strength on the outside but a little look at her strength she carries from within. Before inviting her to shoot I practiced the lighting set up, creating fall off into darkness while passing her incredibly sculpted physique.
Runner portrait photography
David and I got talking about a world record attempt he was aiming to achieve, to run non stop for a record amount of hours on a treadmill. As he trained and I saw the effort, miles and hard work he was putting into breaking the record I thought there would be no better time to get him under my lights.
Editorial fitness photography
Really enjoyed working with Isabel creating some sports fitness photography in the studio. As a complete novice as a model she really picked up the attitude, emotions and direction from me very quickly.
Thai-Boxing portraits
I really love taking athlete portrait photographs, its inspirational to see their dedication to strive to be the elite and capturing them in one moment. This session I came up with one very simple technique to catch them in an in between state – after each session of hard training I pulled them to one side to take their shot. The look is a mixture of attitude and exhaustion which I love.
It’s a pleasure visiting Bradford’s Pro-Thai boxing Gym. Many thanks to Scott and each who stood in front of the lights that night.
