For me as a photographer and now also creating video, working predominantly in Leeds and Bradford, it’s ALL about the quality of work. To create something visually dramatic, perhaps emotive alongside those key essentials to make sure the photograph or video is doing and saying the right thing for the brief. Whether it’s a corporate headshot, brand photoshoot, sports kit needing to be photographed, my attention to the important details never wavers.
My standards for quality production are as high as can be and you will only ever get photography or video that I am proud of to give to you.

Athletics photography
After backing up my hard drives realised there are a number of projects I have not published on the site. This is one of those, a really fun day photographing British athletic hopefuls competing under the hot sun. I had great access thanks to a new friend Championships Secretary Fiona Lancaster. So impressive to see the determination and desire from every athlete.
Running photos - Yorkshire Road Relay Championships
Great show of runners and talent at the Yorkshire Road Relay Championships 2018 at the weekend. A mixed bag of typical Yorkshire weather throughout the day and was indeed more annoying to a working photographer than the competing athletes on the track. Awesome effort from everyone who took part.

Another great running event from Run for all - the Derby half marathon.
Running brand photography
It’s lovely to make new friends in the sports world and from time to time i set myself projects and invite some of those awesome people to take part. This time was in Yorkshire with a bunch of very talented runners to take some sports lifestyle type running photographs. The direction of the shoot was my own.

Hope and homes family marathon photography
On the hottest day of the year I was asked to photograph the Hope for Homes Family marathon event in London. A real scorcher of a day and such a delight to capture the events and emotions that took place. Photographing runners of all ages.

Runner portrait photography
David and I got talking about a world record attempt he was aiming to achieve, to run non stop for a record amount of hours on a treadmill. As he trained and I saw the effort, miles and hard work he was putting into breaking the record I thought there would be no better time to get him under my lights.
Cross country running photography
First running event of the year begins with the Yorkshire Cross Country Championships at Lightwater valley park where the roller coaster overlooks most of the course. Great event to shoot some very good county runners, we even had a sight of a Brownee on the course.
Ultra runner photography
It’s great to spend time with athletes, to find out a little about who they are and what drives them etc. All the better when photographing them in a great location and the weather is with you. Heres just a few photographs of Anna an ultra runner after a few hours we spent together. Thank you Anna!

Run for all - Nottingham 10k
Wet weather is standard at UK sporting events. The Nottingham Run for all 10k event didn’t let down in that area but whatever the weather the emotions I photographed as people crossed the line were hard to beat anywhere else I’ve worked before. Inspiring stuff from elite athletes to first timers.
Cambridge Half Marathon photography
Always great to shoot in places you’ve never been before. The short time I spent in Cambridge looked a lovely place to visit. The weather let the occasion down sadly but fighting off manflu I didn’t really notice that much.
Cross country running photographer
Part of the Peco running series, 5 cross country races in Leeds around 4 to 5 miles long. These are such great events to photograph, filled with people trying their hardest to achieve their own personal goals on the day. Yorkshire running photographer, based in Leeds and always happy to travel to create dramatic sports photography.
Athlete portraits
Always fantastic to photograph athletes away from the course or race track, this one was fun too playing around with some ideas of leaping around and then the more serious moody style of portraits. An absolute pleasure working with Alex and Nick, I wish them every success on their journey to the top.
Running photography – Peco XC Roundhay 2018
Great to see a huge amount of runners for the Peco XC running event at Roundhay on a frosty morning. The fist race the kids brought enthusiasm and huge smiles as they crossed the line, the seniors finished mustering only relief with tired legs in very slippery conditions. I have such admiration for everyone who competed.
Runner portraits
Put simply, I found some runners who inspire me with their ability and dedication to the sport and got them running around to then place them in front of the camera and photograph the moment between adrenaline awesomeness and exhaustion. These guys radiate something I cant explain but hope I’ve captured..?
Leeds half marathon photography
It will be held on record that there was a first male, first female and disabled athlete winner but there were so many more heroes on that day crossing the line. It’s such an achievement to run a half marathon, a real physical task to keep going for such a long distance even for those who trained. Seeing the delight and emotions flood out as each person passed the finish line was absolutely amazing to everyone watching on including me. I was lucky enough to be photographing it all close up.
Huge respect to every person to take on the challenge and win. You are remarkable people, take a bow!
John Carr race photography
The John Carr races are a local series of 3 5k runs for a mix set of abilities, held on the first three weeks in May. While injured i thought I’d make myself useful and shoot the events instead. The weather was kind for a change with some lovely sun sets to the background of the course.

Runner portraits - Ben Mounsey
I say it often but I really do feel very lucky and privileged to be invited into peoples lives for either a wedding or a portrait shoot but being the mediocre runner that i am, it is indeed inspiring to not only see and meet the speediest athletes (I can only dream of being) but I was lucky enough to photograph one of the best, Mr Ben Mounsey. Not only is Ben a superior athlete but such a good guy to boot. I can only say the day we spent tracking up and down the moors was a real blast, great fun and we nailed a few pretty nice shots too. Thanks Ben, looking forward to the next shoot!
