Creating fashion polaroid portraits

I was asked recently by an aspiring model for some portrait polaroids for her profile. The way most model agencies seem to work is that the polaroid portrait needs to not be overworked in the editing and over-filtered. The model to have a clean and natural look and for these shots to give the agency and potential clients a quick look to see what she (really) looks like.

We set off on a very cold day (brave lady indeed) and I had previously scouted out a few locations with plain backdrops to photograph against. You cant go wrong with concrete as a backdrop, ever! Again the brief to just keep the shoot as plain as possible and as she had not done much in the way of modelling, to find some quieter spaces for us to work together with my directions for poses etc. For model shoots depending on the brand or product, you can really go to town on how the model works for the camera but these were nice and simple poses, as natural as possible while showing her physical attributes as well as some personality to the shots too.

I wish Olivia the very best in her modeling career!
